Mrs. Carolyn Craig in her 71st Season, transitioned to Eternal Rest on Friday April 15, 2016 in Tulsa.
Carolyn E. Craig was born April 5, 1945 in Nashville, TN. She was the second of three daughters of the Rev. C.E. and Katherine Elliot Johnson.
As a young child, Carolyn moved from Nashville to Montgomery, WV where she gave her life to Christ at an early age. She graduated from East Bank High School where she excelled in music. After high school, she attended West Virginia Tech (now known at West Virginia University Institute of Technology).
She became wife of William D. Craig Sr. on July 21, 1963. Together they built their living in West Virginia, Washington DC, and New York before settling down in Tulsa, Oklahoma in1974. Carolyn was a member of Friendship Church for 35 years where she served on the Deaconess Board.
She was preceded in death by parents, her sister (Evelyn Jean Trotter), and a nephew (Kenneth DeWayne).
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William; her children, Stephanie Phillips (Eric), William David Jr (Leah), Shawntell, and Samaris Major (Nikita); her sister and brother-in-law, Fred & Shirley Smalls; and her 7 grandchildren; Myles and Bronson Phillips; Cianna, William III, and Caitlyn Craig; Saniah and Anderson Major; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.
Services will be held on April 21, 2016 ~ 11:00am
