Obituary

Carolyn Ann McGlorie was born on the 15th day of November in 1956 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to
Christine Deckard and Claude McGlorie Sr. Carolyn was raised by her grandparents, Fred and
Hearlean Deckard and she was the oldest of four children.

Carolyn accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of Rev. J. B. Brown and later Rev. David Burks.


Carolyn attended school in Okmulgee and graduated with the class of 1975. While in High
School, she participated in an award winning band, playing the French horn and the trumpet.
After High School, she attended Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee and received several
degrees. Carolyn was very intelligent and loved to read. She also participated in various rodeos
where she was best known for barrel racing.


On March 17, 1990, Carolyn became a mother to a bouncing baby boy and named him Jamil
Anthony McGlorie. She later met Steve White and they welcomed handsome twin boys on
June 7, 1993, named Steven Wayne McGlorie and Stefon Jaray McGlorie.


Carolyn's employment included, Homeland, formerly known as Safeway, Kelco, Ford Motor
Glass Company, Subway, and Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority until retiring in
November 2020 due to her illness.


Carolyn was adored and loved by all who knew her. She loved and cherished spending time
with her family. She was an awesome cook and would brag about how she cooked better than
both of her sisters.


On May 29, 2021, Carolyn peacefully transitioned to eternal rest with the love of her family
surrounding her. She was preceded in death by her son Steven McGlorie, mother Christine
(Deckard) Thomas, father Claude McGlorie Sr., brother Robert Wayne Thomas.


She leaves to cherish her memories, sons Jamil and Stefon McGlorie, sisters Johnnie Mae
Brown and Sharon Kay Jordan, brothers Claude Jr. and Alsavon McGlorie, granddaughter
August Rose Montgomery, and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Service of Memory for Carolyn will be on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the most holy sanctuary of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  Dr. D. M. Currington, Senior Pastor, will Officiate.  Burial will follow in the Northwest Cemetery in Okmulgee.

You may visit her on Friday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home in Okmulgee.
