Cassandra Humphrey-Henley, after 49 seasons, traveled up "that Highway called Holiness" on Thursday, December 7, 2006 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born on June 4, 1957 from the union of Franklin and Maxine Humphrey. She lived in Okmulgee and attended Banneker Elementary School until the age of eight, after which she moved to Tulsa in 1965 an attended Dunbar Elementary, Carver and Marian Anderson before graduating from the acclaimed Booker T. Washington High School with the Class of 1975. While in school, she played softball and picked up the knickname of "Tuffy."
During her formative years, she professed a hope in Christ and in 2003, she rededicated her life at Agape Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Layla Caldwell.
Cassandra met a gentleman, Steven H. Henley and after falling in love, there were united in marriage on May 31, 1994.
Mrs. Henley was preceded in death by her father. She leaves in God's care; her husband, Steven Henley, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Keisha Humphrey, Dallas, Texas and Catricia Humphrey, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her mother, Maxine Maxwell, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brother, Ray [Kim] Humphrey, Tulsa, Oklahoma, a dear aunt, Joyce [Joe L.] Parker; along with a caravan of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The final tribute will be on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Agape Outreach Ministries, 1029 North Utica Avenue. Burial will follow in Doyle Cemetery at Yahola, Oklahoma.
