Obituary

Catherine Brown, precious wife of Billie D. Brown, in her 67th season, quietly crossed from life to everlasting on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from St. John Medical Center.

Born Catherine Miles, she was the daughter of the late T. J. and Louise Miles, born in Ft. Mitchell, Alabama on February 14, 1941.

Catherine retired from the Tulsa Ford Motor Glass Plant, where she was active in UAW local 1985, having served as Vice PResident of Retirees and also holding many other positions over the years.

She was also a devoted and faithful member of Greater Union Baptist Church, where she served the Lord faithfully in many capacities, including Vice President of the finance committee and head of the Missionary Society. She never met a stranger and was quick to warm hearts and make friends.

Those that wait on the Lord; her devoted husband of 42 years, Billie D. Brown, of the home in Tulsa; a sister, Helen Allen, Columbus, Georgia; two brothers, Milton Miles, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Robert [Dorothy] Miles, Clarksville, Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Norma [K.C.] Kemp, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; her brother-in-law, Thurman [Jean], San Antonio, Texas; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives and an abundance of dear friends.

The Celebratory Worship service will be on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of the Greater Union Baptist Church. Reverend Bobby Kendrick, Sr., Pastor, the Officiant and Reverend Kenneth Brown, Pastor of Galillee Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas, Eulogist.

You may visit Mrs. Brown, as she slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Tulsa on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 7 PM.
