Obituary

Reverend Cecilia Allen, a beautiful baby girl, was born on February 9, 1938, in Nuyaka, Oklahoma, to Reverend Lewis C. Colbert and Alice Shepard Colbert, and began her life's journey. Cecilia transitioned in her sleep peacefully on Sunday morning, December 31, 2023, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, surrounded by loved ones.

She attended Beggs High School. Cecilia met Wallace Allen and fell in love. They were united in marriage on May 17, 1957, and their loving union was blessed with five children. She raised her children with love and devotion. She was a wonderful wife and mother who was always there for her family. Cecilia worked in the healthcare field for many years before becoming the business owner of Allen's Daycare. She touched and influenced the lives of many children through Allen's Daycare where everyone's child was her child.

She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. In her later years, she joined Conversion Church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Richardson. She was very active in the Church using her gifts by serving in the following ministries: she was president of the Missions, Pastor's aide, and she worked in the Outreach Ministry. She was a faithful and committed member of the Church. She accepted the call to the ministry on December 26, 1999. She shared the good news of the Gospel with many. She trusted God to the very end. Cecilia was an inspiration to others through her spiritual gifts of exhortation and giving. She was a loyal friend. To know her was to love her. She was real and would call you out if needed. Cecilia had a sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, Facebook, music, shopping, thrifting, and collecting antiques.

Cecilia is preceded in death by husband of 48 years, Wallace Allen; parents, Reverend Lewis C. and Alice Colbert; brothers, Lewis D. Colbert and Luther Harris; grandchildren, Latoya Allen and Jar'mel'roe Allen; and niece, Latasha Colbert.

Cecilia leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: five children, Karen (James) Jackson of Houston, Texas, Gregory (Reverend Diane) Allen of Beggs, Oklahoma, Janet Allen of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Cynthia Allen of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Anthony (D'Andrea) Allen, Glenpool, Oklahoma; like a son, Lewis Colbert, Jr. "Pee Wee" of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
