Mr. Charlie Nicholson, in his 68th year, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, January 7, 2017 from the Jack C. Montgomery V.A. Regional Medical Center in Muskogee.

Charlie Lee Nicholson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 23, 1948 to Kathryn Nicholson.  He was the oldest child and he would let you know that quickly.

He graduated from Historic Manual Training High School wit the Class of 1966....."Purple Pride!"  After graduation, he worked a few jobs before entering the United States Air Force in 1968.  After 4 years of traveling all over the world while in the Air Force, he was honorably discharged and returned to Muskogee, where he then met the love of his life, Anna Owens and daughter, Antoinette.   They then moved to Wichita, Kansas and after 15 years in Wichita, they returned to Muskogee to be care givers.  He was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church and he loved his Church.  Charlie never met a stranger and was kind to all.  There was no place he went that he didn't know someone.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Miles Barnett, his mother, Kathryn Nicholson, and brother, Roderick.

He leaves in God's care, his wife, Anna, of the home in Muskogee;  his daughter, Antonette Owens-Peete and grandson, Austin Peete, of Stockbridge, Georgia;  his Aunt, Annette, of Tulsa, Oklahoma;  his siblings, Vanessa [Ron] Topping, Muskogee, Alan Nicholson, Plano, Texas, Stephanie Nicholson, Denver, Colorado, Miles, Raymond, Kenneth, Greg, Tammy and Catherine Barnett, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma;  along with other relatives and friends.

The Final Salute will commence on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 9:30 AM in the Macedonia Baptist Church.  Reverend Larry H. Smith, Sr., Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma at 11:00 AM.

You may visit Mr. Nicholson on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM in Muskogee.
