IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cheryl Elaine
Smith
October 27, 1953 – April 18, 2017
Cheryl was a long time resident of Okmulgee. She attended Okmulgee High School and graduated with the Class of 1972. Cheryl furthered her education at Langston University, where she earned a teaching degree, which she utilized in the Okmulgee Public School systems. Cheryl's love for education flowed into her as a mother as well; her number one goal was to see her son, Shiloh graduate from high school and to further his education. She was also a proud member of Eastside Baptist Church, "The Church" as she would say as if it was the only church in Okmulgee.
During her early years, Cheryl worked in several positions at Walmart, the Box Factory, and Miami Terrance Nursing Home.
Cheryl loved to listen to jazz music and the entire section of soulful artist. Some of her favorite memories were during college. Cheryl was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and she would bring her roommates home on the weekends; they all thought Okmulgee was a "hopping little place." Cheryl was a big fan of the wrestling federation back in the day and a good western movie was always on the schedule after Sunday serviceVisitation
