Obituary

In the fall of 1951, Vinard Vann and Genora [Blackmon] Vann celebrated the birth of a daughter on September 25th in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. They named this precious baby girl Christine.

Christine began her development in life through education at Thompson Elementary School, Norwood Elementary School, then Fort Gibson High School before moving on to Bacone College and Northern State University.

Equally as important as school was a personal relationship with Christ. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Four Mile Branch Baptist Church and later attended the Historic First Baptist Church in Fort Gibson and ultimately Galilee Church of God in Christ in Muskogee.

Christine shared her gifts as a Certified Nurse Aid during her life. She worked at Muskogee General Hospital, the Veterans Administration Medical Center and also Fort Gibson Nursing Center. She even worked at the Greenleaf Nursery, as well.

After Fifty-six years with us, Christine Vann left this life for a life eternal on Friday, November 16, 2007 from Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father, Vinard Vann; her children, Marsha Ann Vann, Albert George Vann and Christopher George Vann; along with a siter and two brothers.

She leaves in God's care; her daughter, Renette [Shawn] Ousley, Muskogee, Oklahoma; her mother, Genora Vann, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Chaunda Craft, Cortney Ousley, Cameron Ousley and Daquarius Vann, all of Muskogee; her sisters, Rosemary Marshall, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Donna [Dennis] Jackson, Midwest City, Oklahoma, Virginia Vann and Linda [Henry] Lee, all of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; her brothers, Michael Vann, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Leonard Vann and Alan Vann, both of Muskogee; a special companion, Albert "Bunky" Harris, of Muskogee; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The farewell tribute will be on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. in the Four Mile Branch Baptist Church, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Four Mile Branch Cemetery.
