On September 15, 1985, a beautiful baby girl was born to Cynthea Evonne Thompson and Anthony Ragsdale. They named her Cierra Danielle Thompson.
As a baby her mom nicknamed her 'China Doll' because she was so precious and delicate. She was a joyful baby that the entire family loved to spoil. At an early age Cierra would attend Deans Chapel Baptist Church and Greater Shiloh Baptist Church with her family. Scripture tells us, that if a child is trained up in the adoration of the Lord, when he or she is old, they won't depart from the teachings of the Lord; it should be no surprise that when she gave her life to Christ she began working diligently in the church, and professed her love for Christ.
Cierra was an adventurous, outgoing, free spirit and truly enjoyed life. Cierra loved to learn and received her education through the Muskogee and Tulsa Public School System. She had a strong desire to succeed and to be a positive role model for her siblings. Through her optimistic outlook on life and her love for others, she accepted her calling of taking care of senior citizens, and became a certified nursing assistant. Her passion for working and loving the elderly can be attributed to her upbringing and being so close to her grandparents.
Cierra, with her big heart, bubbly personality, and her loving spirit captured the attention of Mr. Stephon Alexander. Stephon and Cierra's love blossomed and recently they were happy to learn they were going to have a baby and planned to name the child Ki'er Thompson Alexander. Spoiling Stephon and Cierra's baby won't get to happen on this side; however we're reminded in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for the good … And because this relationship happened, Cierra rekindled her great love for God and His church. She began attending service with Stephon's family at Blood Bought Evangelistic Church of God in Christ in Muskogee where she worked in several different ministries including but not limited, to the Women's Mission Department, and the Youth Department.
Although Cierra battled with sickness a majority of her young life, she never let it overtake her. She finished her race early answering God's call beckoning her and her unborn child Home on August 28, 2016. She and Ki'er will be missed but the family that rejoices in her elevation back to the One that loved her most are: Her parents; Cynthea Thompson-Orange and Anthony Ragsdale; brothers: Kierro and Ge'Kieo; sisters: Myesha, Ariel and Ki'Sadi and her niece Ki'Mora. Cierra leaves a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. She had a special bond with all of her family, but especially with her Great-Aunt Darlene Pierce. Her Aunt Darlene was like another mother to her and was always there for Cierra. Also cherishing the memory of Cierra will be her first love Corey Bogar. Corey was Ciera's first love, and their friendship spans over 10 years, with him always proving to be a great friend to her. Finally, her special friend Stephon Alexander and his family, Ms. Nancy Jackson and Ms. Betty Brown will forever hold Cierra's memory dear.
Cierra was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Margie 'Mema' and Clyde 'Papa' Thompson, Dorothy and Washington Ragsdale, great-grandmothers Ella Mae Johns and Beatrice Robinson.
The healing begins on Friday, September 9, 2016 when friends may visit Cierra, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
The Service of Memory, to reflect, celebrate and say farewell to her will commence on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the most Holy sanctuary of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 500 West Broadway Avenue in Muskogee.
The Christian Committal will follow in the hallowed grounds of the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
