Claudie Brooks arrived in Summit, Oklahoma on November 6, 1950, the son of Curtis and Ruby Brooks, Sr. Claudie graduated from Historic Manual Training High School with the Class of 1969. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
It was a monumental day, January 12, 193, when he married the former Mignon M. King. Their marriage and love was blessed with five beautiful children; Nikya Givens, Dathan Brooks, Carnelle Brooks, Aquina Ellis and LaKindra Brooks.
Mr. Brooks served his country honorably for 21 years as a Master Sergeant. After he retired from the Air Force, he continued his career working and serving other Veterans at teh Veterans Administration Medical Center in Muskogee for an aditional 20 years, prior to his retirement in 2011.
Claudie enjoyed playing pool, basketball and golfing. He also enjoyed trades, including auto body mechanic and auto detailing. He believed in working hard and demonstrating strong work ethic.
After "three score and ten years," Claudie Eugene Brooks closed his eyes for eternal slumber on Friday afternoon, December 4, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Those preceding him in death; his parents, Curtis and Ruby Brooks, Sr., and his brothers, Curtis "Beaver" Brooks, Jr., Sammy Brooks and Tommy Brooks.
Mr. Brooks leaves to cherish his legacy; his devoted wife, Mignon Brooks; his children, Nikya Givens, Derrick Welch, Dathan Brooks, Carnelle Brooks, Aquina Ellis and LaKindra Brooks; his siblings, Sandra Terry, Los Angeles, Calfiornia, Woodie Brooks, Sr., Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ricky Brooks, Muskogee, Oklahoma, David Brooks, Checotah, Oklahoma, Don Brooks, Muskogee, Oklahoma and Lula McVay, Muskogee, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will cherish his loving memory.
The Hour of Remembrance in honor of Mr. Brook's life will be shared on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at High Noon, in the most holy sanctuary of the Boulevard Christian Church. Reverend Gary Hall, Sr., Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church will officiate.
You may visit Mr. Brooks, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Burial with United States Air Force Honors will be on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 PM.
