Obituary

On January 16, 1943, a precious, baby boy was born from the loving union of Wade and Lena Bell [Mitchell] Milton. They named him Claudius Ellis Milton, better known as "Bit".

Mr. Milton graduated from Historic Manual Training High School June 2, 1961. In 1969, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Virginia Ann Gaines and this union was blessed with 8 children.

Claudius began working at American Foundry on July 31, 1978 and rendered faithful service until his retirement on November 19, 2015.

He started his walk with Christ at an early age. After watching Jimmy Swaggart on Television, he gave his life to Christ. He was serious about the Lord. Mr. Milton was a praying man. He became a Deacon in 1985 at Canaan Baptist Church. He was also a Sunday School Teacher. He served the Lord faithfully and diligently in the Church. Whatever was needed to be be done, he was always willing; serving the Pastor faithfully, a faithful tither-always quoting Malachi 3:6 with his wife by his side. He was faithful, if it was cutting the yard, and he loved to feed the people. He was known for his barbecue skills and his favorite scripture was Psalm 30:5.

On Monday morning, just before noon, July 4, 2016, Claudius Ellis Milton, after 73 years, began celebrating his "Independance Day with Jesus." With his loving family near his side, he dozed from this earthly life to life everlasting.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, Edward Smith and Arthur Milton, three sisters, Berniece Crittenden, Josephine Curry and Lestella Milton, a daughter, Cynthia, a son, Cornelious and a granddaughter,

He leaves in God's care to celebrate his homegoing; his loving wife, Virginai; 7 sons, Anthony [Michelle], Cedric, Claudius Eugene [Jennifer], Rondale [Valyncia] Wilson, Claudius Ellis Jr., Carl and David; 4 daughters, Caressa, Cheryl, Carla and Claudia; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Wade, Louis and Lloyd; 4 sisters, Opal Cartledge [Rufus], Verna RIcks, Delores Milton and Mary Richmond; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Hour of Remembrance for Mr. Milton will commence on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Most Holy sanctuary of Faith Deliverance Christian Center. Pastor Marnita Archie is the gracious host Pastor, Minister Louis Milton, the Officiant and Pastor Ray K. Gaines, will deliver the Eulogy.
