Obituary

Nobody else held us so tight or made us feel so right. No one's eyes shined so bright with love as our loving Mother, who is high above. The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend on Sunday, July 2, 2023, when our heavenly Father called his daughter, Cleo Marie White, home.

Born April 8, 1937, in Nuyaka, Oklahoma, Cleo Marie White was the seventh child of the late Lewis and Christana Reed. Cleo confessed to Christ and was baptized by her brother; she was filled with the holy ghost as witnessed by her mother and oldest sister. Cleo was a devoted servant of God, often speaking and praying his word over her family.

Cleo worked as a Certified Nurse Aide until she retired. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Cleo enjoyed shopping at garage sales and thrift stores.

Cleo met and married Paul Barnett, Sr., and from this union they had four children. She then met James Willis and they had one child. Later, she met and married David White, Sr., and from this union they had three children. Cleo loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved being surrounded by her family. When it was time for the family to get together, she would be so excited and could hardly wait because she knew it would be a joyful and wonderful time. Cleo loved watching her children enjoying each other and cooking delicious food for her as she laughed and told the funniest jokes to them and the grandchildren. Cleo would share family stories with her children and grandchildren; she was the family's storyteller.

Meeting her at heaven's glorious gates will be her parents, Lewis and Christana Reed; brothers, Sylvester and Jeremiah; sisters, Rachel, Betty,
Opal, Odessa, and Queen Ester; daughter, Cheryl; late husband, David White, Sr.; and other loving family and friends.

Remembering Cleo's life are her children, Paul Barnett, Jr., Gayle Barnett, Marty Barnett, and Kimberly Davison (Chris), all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Eyvette Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Shawn White (Tammy) of Miami, Oklahoma, and Marilyn White (Rueben) of McKinney, Texas; a caravan of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and other extended family members that will miss her dearly.

The Sacred Farewell for Mrs. White will commence on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of Boulevard Christian Church in Muskogee.

You may visit Mother White, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home on Friday, July 14, 2023 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
