Obituary

Mr. Cleophus Hill, in his 87th year, dozed into the peace of eternal slumber on September 3, 2007 from St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

Cleophas Hill was born to Bessie Alexander McCullough and Lamar Hill, in Eudora, Arkansas on February 4, 1920. He attended public school in Arkansas. Daddy was known to everyone as 'Cleo'. He was raised by his grandmother Irene Wren who preceded him in death. Irene instilled Godly principles in Cleo at an early age. Cleo had one brother Thomas Williams of California, who also preceded him in death.

Cleo married Asleane Cathey Hill of Eudora, Arkansas; they were married on February 7, 1940. In 1943 Cleo joined the United States Armed Forces (Army), he received an honorable discharge in 1946. To their union was born three children. They were blessed with 16 grandchildren; three preceded him in death (Marcia, Bootie & Juan D). Of the 16 grandchildren, they were blessed with 26 great-grandchildren. Daddy and Mother had a special love for family and friends. Their doors were always open to render a helping hand to anyone in need.

During the 1960's, Cleo became the proud owner/operator of his own Janitorial Service. It was through this business, Daddy found joy and purpose. Cleo, not only trained his three children to labor, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many were blessed by his business. He taught his children anything worth having is worth working for. Daddy instilled in his children to love unconditional and to be helpers of one another. Daddy, you will be missed so much!

Cleo leaves to cherish his loving memory: his children, Christine, Willie, & Earlene (Leonard), grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special love ones: he raised Karen 'LaShan' (Percy) from infancy and later assisted with the raising of Tara Hill. George (Mary) Wren, Curly (Shirley) Wren of Wichita, Kansas, Lucille Harper, of Tulsa, Reynolds Cathey, Jr. of Florida, 2 nieces (Diana & Marsha) & 3 nephews (Tom, Paul & Ronnell) of California and a host other nieces, nephews & cousins.

The Celebration of his life will be on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. in the Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries, 1609 N. Evanston Place. Bishop Harold Jones, the gracious host pastor and Reverend Scott Gordon, Calvary Baptist Church, Sapulpa, Officiant.
