Cletus James Rice, age 59, was called home to our Lord on Monday, March 8 2021.
Eugene and Lillie [Ratliff] Rice, Sr. celebrated the birth of a baby boy in Okmulgee County on February 11, 1962. They named their new son Cletus James Rice.
Cletus grew up in Okmulgee County and attended Morris Public Schools, where he graduated with the Morris High School Class of 1980.
Cletus was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He loved his family above all things and He was especially proud of the diversity of culture and beauty his family represented.
If he wasn't the honorary guest at a tea party or riding around his property with his grandbabies, you could find him in the shop working on old school trucks with his sons, riding his tractor, BBQing for any occasion, at his happy place fishing on his pond, or lending a helping hand to anyone that called on him.
Cletus always had a way with words; many of us will remember the unique nickname he would give you or his complete dislike of having his picture taken.
Cletus James Rice, after 59 years with us, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Rice, Sr.
He leaves in God's care; His loving wife and best friend of nearly 30 years, Sheila Rice; his sons, Brandon Rice, Andrew Deubel and Darrell Morgan; his sweet mother, Lille Rice; his granddaughters, Abigail and Olivia Deubel; his siblings, Jeanette, Marlene, Brenda, Karen, Ron and Eugene, Jr.
Cletus was beloved not just by his immediate relatives but will be missed by many lifelong friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and several others that he was proud to call Family.
Service of Remembrance for Mr. Rice will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.
