Clifton Deon Youngblood
In the early fall of 1984 the 22 nd day of October, a beautiful baby boy was born to the proud parents of Roy and Marquita Youngblood. They named him Clifton Deon Youngblood known to all as Deon.
Deon accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Taft under the leadership of the late, Rev. Woodrow McBride.
He attended Muskogee Public Schools, starting his education at the Ben Franklin Elementary School and West Middle Scholl later attending Boynton-Moton High School graduating in the Class of 2003. Deon furthered his education and continued his basketball career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) in Miami, Oklahoma.
Deon fell in love with sports and was an avid basketball player. His passion for sports led him to coaching. He started his own football team and was able to be a mentor and coach for his own sons, family members and other young men in the community. Coach Deon was loved and respected on and off the field. He touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by all.
Deon loved the outdoors and he showed a great interest and love for the rodeo. In his early years you could find him and his dad, Roy out in field roping and making shift calves until Deon was able to ride and rope on his own. A true cowboy he became following in his father's footsteps and other cowboys he admired. He began to groom his own sons for the Rodeo as well.
Deon was family–oriented and loved his family whole-heartedly. He was blessed with four beautiful children, Malachi, Ajah, Clifton "CJ" and Calen. He was such a great and loving father you can see and feel the love if you were ever around to see him and his children. He lived for his children, mom and family. His eyes would lighten up at the mention of their names or conversations about them. Deon was employed as a Truck Driver with 3C's Logistics until his untimely demise.
On July 18, 2021 on his sister's birthday doing what he loved, spending time with his family Deon cried unto the Lord and He answered his call. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jodie and Minnie Youngblood – Shine, Ezra and Lovie Gaines; Uncle James Earl Youngblood, and a special cousin, Lakeia "Chickie" Gaines.
