IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Corey Rashad
Cook
March 1, 1990 – July 2, 2021
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you,
and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am,
there you may be also. And whether I go ye know, and the way ye know."
John 14:1–4
A wonderful baby was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Mr. Ezekiel Turner and Ms. Stephanie Ann Cook, on March 1st, 1990. There were four children, including Corey, in the family: Keenan D. Cook, James O. Cook, and Destiny Cook. Corey, who was affectionately known to everyone as "Corey Joe", grew up in Tulsa.
He attended Broken Arrow High School. Mr. Corey R. Cook believed in God and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He faithfully attended Victory Christian Center. Corey later met Chatia Dennis, and from that union three children were born: Corey R. Cook, Jr., Courtni Maryshea Ann Cook, and Carmari Rushell Cook, with stepchild, Cordell Dayman Auwleins.
Corey was a good man. Indeed, he loved his children, other family, and music with a strong passion. He always spoke of having a big family. He loved sports, basketball in particular. His favorite athlete was Kobe Bryant from the Los Angeles Lakers. He even played at a young age. He loved his mother's cooking and especially enjoyed her holiday dishes. He looked up to and shared many memories with his big brother, Keenan, and helped raise and look after his younger siblings, James and Destiny, growing up.
Corey leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Stephanie A. Cook; father, Ezekiel (Carl) Turner of Columbus, Ohio; older brother, Keenan D. Cook, James O. Cook, and Destiny K. Cook, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; uncles, Curtis L. Cook, Harold W. Cook, and Matthew L. Hannah, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; aunts, Lillian B. Chutwood of Little Rock, Arkansas, Shirley A. Thomas of Southfield, Michigan, Carolyn King of Marianna, Arkansas, Shelia (John) Williams of Houston, Texas, Connie Turner of Marianna, Arkansas, Kathy (Dexter) Henson of Fort Worth, Texas, Sylvia R. (Henry) Webb of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; uncle, Kenneth E. Turner of Minneapolis, Minnesota; great-uncle, Johnny B. Robinson of Marianna, Arkansas; great-aunt, Zenobia Hilson of Youngstown, Ohio; and many, many cousins and friends across the United States. He loved his grandmother, Brenda A. Hannah, who preceded him in death. She was a loving grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On the 2nd day of July , 2021, Corey Rashad Cook, in his 31st year with us, left this life for eternal life from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
