Obituary

Corrine Eva Dukes was born on October 23, 1939, the daughter of Jessie and Eva [Bowens] Grizzard at Council Hill, Oklahoma.
Corrine attended school and graduated before becoming the wife of James O'neal.  Their union was blessed with three daughters.  Later in life, Corrine married John Dukes and they remained married for 36 years.
She enjoyed fishing and also visiting the casino.
Corrine was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Blackjack Baptist Church, near Taft, Oklahoma.
In her 79th year with us, Corrine Eva Dukes, closed her eyes on this side and woke up in Glory on Tuesday evening, November 27, 2018 from her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dukes, her parents, Jessie and Eva Grizzard, 4 brothers, Jessie, J.B., Eugene, and Jerry, 2 sisters, Linda and JoAnn.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory;  3 daughters, Kathleen Dukes, Mesa, Arizona, Lisa Moore, Checotah, Oklahoma and Katherine [Ray] Lee, Phoenix, Arizona;2 sisters, Pearlie Heard, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shirley [Arnett] Richardson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;  10 grandchildren, Latasha [Casey], Marlyna, Lorenzo, Marcus, Katrina, Jasmine, Rachel, Terrance, Billy and Aron;  12 great-grandchildren, Brian, Brandon, Jaylen, Amarie, Marcus Jr., Malachi, Leandrea, Isiah, A'Lisa, Micheal Jr., Tommy Jr., and Teletha;  along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, and her dog, "Lilly".


Sacred Farewell to Mrs. Dukes will commence on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Mt. Olive Star Baptist Church, in the Warrior Community, west of Checotah.  Reverend Sam Cunningham is the gracious host Pastor, Reverend Marcus Burkhalter, Pastor of Historic First Baptist Church of Ft. Gibson will officiate and Minister Katherine Lee will give the Eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Warrior Cemetery.
