On November 22, 1957, in Tulsa, OK a beautiful baby girl was born to Orsbon and Lorene Syas Hawkins. They named her Cynthia Lorraine. She was the second child of four children.
Cynthia was a kind, loving, giving person who cared deeply for all of her family and friends and loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.
She attended Burroughs Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and was the last graduating class of the original Central High School in downtown Tulsa in 1976. She continued her education at Wichita State University and received her B.A. degree in Accounting from Langston University in 1996. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Tulsa Church of God congregation serving as teacher and Superintendent of Sunday School and also served in the financial ministry.
On November 23, 1985, she married the love of her life, Roy Milton Johnson and he affectionately called her "Miss America". They began their life together in Glenpool, OK and in 2000 moved to Jenks, OK and shared 21 years together. On May 25, 2013, she traded in her earthly home in Jenks, OK for her new home in heaven.
Although she and Roy did not have any children of their own, she was a Mother to all of her nephews, nieces and also her great nephews and nieces. They brought tremendous joy and laughter to her life. There has never been a prouder Aunt than "Auntie Cynthia".
Though she faced many challenges with her eyesight, Cynthia continued to perform her duties with excellence. She was a treasured employee of Tulsa County Administrative Services as Accountant/Bookkeeper II for over 32 years, where she developed many lasting friendships.
One of her greatest pleasures was as the family historian. Even when we didn't remember our own birthday we could always count on Cynthia to help keep us all straight.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband Roy, her mother, Lorene Syas Hawkins, her mother-in-law Lucille Taylor Johnson and brother-in-law Gerard Johnson.
