The union of Abigail [Neale] Washington and Daniel Washington was blessed with a bouncing, baby boy in Muskogee, Oklahoma on February 24, 1999.  The only boy of the family was given the name Daniel Eugene Washington, Jr.

Affectionately referred to by family and friends as "Dan Dan", this young man was an exceptional guy.  He seemed bigger than life, was funny and the life of the party, loved music and was gifted on the piano.

In spite of his life battling Sickle Cell, he lived life to the fullest.  He enjoyed riding horse, dancing, going to Church, imitating people and cooking – even coming up with new recipes.

Daniel was a junior at Muskogee High School, where he excelled in high jump on the track team and also played basketball.  Dan Dan always had a smile and made others laugh, even when he was feeling his best.

His faith in Christ was evident through his attendance at the House of Deliverance and also Deans Chapel Baptist Church, where he played with the group Instrumental.  His presence in our lives will be missed and forever cherished.

It is often stated that it's not how long you live, but how well you live.  Daniel Eugene Washington, Jr., in his 18 ^th year of life, "finished early" and now rests with his Savior.

He leaves in God's care;  his mother, Abigail Washington;  his father, Daniel Washington, Sr.; his siblings, Kierra Neale, Danielle Washington, Tiana Washington and Mijoi Large;  his grandparents, Wayne [Jessie] Neale and Malcolm [Penny] Washington and Aretha Johnson;  his cousin, Nigel and best friend, Gabriel; and of course, his dog, "Ace"!

The Celebratory Worship Service in honor of his life will commence on Friday, April 28, 2o17 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church, 7th street and Okmulgee avenue.  Reverend Alvin Smith will officiate and Reverend Don Dumas will render the Eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.

You may visit Daniel, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 Noon until 7:00 PM and on Friday, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the Church.  The casket will not be opened at the conclusion of the celebration.
