Darrell Spears Thompson was born December 2, 1951 in Boley, OK – Rusk Community.    He was the sixth child born to his parents Caldwell and Anna Mae Spears Thompson.

Darrell grew up In Boley/Rusk attending faithfully The Church of God Chapel.  Darrell was a proud member of the Boley High School (BHS) Class of 1970, which being a legendary year...winning the State Basketball Tournament Championship in February 1970.

At the age of 5 Darrell was driving a tractor and working the fields and farm with his Dad and older brothers.  Darrell also worked with his Dad as a teenager assisting as a janitor and driving the school bus at Boley High School.

Darrell was a professional Truck Driver, driving all over the USA and Canada.  He drove many years for 'Sinclair Oil Company' delivering gas and 'Feed the Children' taking food and supplies all over the USA  to towns and cities feeding children and families in need.

Darrell was married respectfully to Mrs. Patricia Harris Beasley and blessed with this union their son Todd Lamont Thompson.  This marriage ended leading to his marriage respectfully to Ms. Cathy Kirksey.  Preceded Darrell in death were his parent – Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell Thompson and five brothers -  Theodus, Anthony, Wendell, Victor and Hersey .

Darrell never met a stranger, always had a smile and an encouraging word. He never turned you away if you needed food or shelter.  Darrell wasn't perfect, however he knew the Lord and confessed Him as his Personal Lord and Savior.

Darrell Spears Thompson transitioned from this life to his Eternal Rest on Sunday December 11, 2016 just a few days following his 65 ^th birthday.  He leaves to cherish his memory:  Son: Todd Lamont Thompson (Rachelle) -  Chandler, OK.   Grandchildren:  Marquis, Ronico ( Devinee) ,  Marquan, Jaelyn, Tiffany and Todd Jr.  Great Grand Children:  Kassidy and Kendall Rose.  Brothers:  Charles (Barbara) Thompson – Memphis,TN  and Cadwell (Tracy) Thompson - Oklahoma City, OK.  Sisters in Law: Bobe Thomspon (Hersey) and Tomella Thompson (Victor),  his lifelong best friend, Barbara Stone and a host of nieces,  nephews, cousins, BHS Class of 1970 and friends.

A Memorial Ceremony will be shared on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Church of God in Boley, Oklahoma.  Brother Cleophus Jordan, Pastor, will officiate.
