Darryl E. Lyons, age 63, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, on July 28, 2023, following a short courageous battle with cancer.

Darryl was born January 1, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mildred (Deville) Lyons. Having received his earlier education at Okmulgee public schools, he made many lifelong friends with cherished memories. Darryl later attended school in Chicago, graduating in 1978 from George Henry Corliss High School.

Upon furthering his education, his work career included employment with PEPSI, Southwestern Bell, Perrier Water, and Kimberly Clark. In his retirement years, Darryl enjoyed many hobbies including fishing and raising Angus Cattle. Darryl was an active member of Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church, where he served as a lector.

Survivors include: his wife of twenty-seven years, Jacqueline (Gouthier) Lyons; son, Daniel of Las Vegas; mother, Mildred Lyons of Okmulgee; siblings, Marcus Clay of FL, Donna Jean Goldsby of Oklahoma City, Andre Lyons and wife, Teresa of Edmond, and Patricia Lyons of Okmulgee; uncle, Leonard Deville, and wife, Catherine; aunt, Creole Deville-McDaniel of Chicago, IL; father and mother-in-law, Rudolph and Cleo Gouthier; Gary and Carolyn Calip, Pat Wilson, Sandy and Rose Gouthier, and Louise Porter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Lyons will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Okmulgee.

You may visit him on Wednesday, between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.

A Rosary will begin at 6:00 PM at the Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church on Wednesday.
