"Life's race well won, life's work all done, the victory won, and now he rests"
A beautiful baby boy was born to William and Linda Mason on March 22, 1967 in Tulsa, Ok. He was a wonderful child and always had a beautiful smile and a generous heart of gold and always reached out to help people.
Daryl attended William Penn Elementary, Monroe Middle School and Booker T. Washington High School graduating with the class of 1985. He went on to attend Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma.
Daryl worked on several different jobs before going to work at the ORU Mabee Center as Box Office Manager. This was his greatest and most enjoyable by far. He loved his job and the people.
Daryl gave his heart to God at a very early age. He grew up under the teaching and training of his grandfather Rev. Ruben Phillips who is the pastor of Greater Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church where he grew up attending. During the past several years he had attended Greater Grace Temple under the ministering of Pastor Donald O. Tyler.
Daryl heard the voice of God calling him home and answered his call at 2:58 p.m. on August 15, 2013. We cry and we mourn but we feel so blessed to have been a part of Daryl's life for the 46 years God loaned him to us.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his mother Linda Mason-Brown, sister Tonya Pike (Samuel Pike) of Tulsa, his brother David Mason of Dallas, TX, his nephews Onyx, Joshua & Caleb Pike all of Tulsa, his grandmother and grandfather Laverne & Ruben Phillips, his aunts Yvonne Austin, Sonja Duncan, Arlene Billups, Ethelene Conley, Sharon Jackson, Gail Anderson, Cheryl Hammon, Amber Phillips and Irene Tidwell, uncles Lamoin, Michael, Thurman & Lee Smith, many, many very special cousins and some very special friends Karin Nero, Matthew Olden ,Yoliana, Zory, the Torres sisters, Kevin, David, Jeremy, Priscilla, Joyce, Jimmy, Heather and many more too numerous to name.
We loved you Daryl but God loved you more!
His services will commence on Tuesday August 20, 2013 at 11AM at Greater Sunrise Baptist Church in Tulsa. Friends may visit Mr. Mason on Monday from 1PM until 7PM in Tulsa.
