The Story of Tody from Boley

DeAngelo Donnell “Tody” Crawford, 47, of Boley, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Tody was born on May 27, 1979, in Prague, Oklahoma, to Angela Marzett and Rufus Crawford. 

From an early age, Tody accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Amos Temple CME Church in Boley, Oklahoma. His faith was an important part of his life and helped shape the man he became.

Tody received his formal education through the Boley Public School System, graduating on May 22, 1997.

 Following high school, he attended Haskell Indian College in Lawrence, Kansas. After spending a year at Haskell, Tody returned home to Oklahoma, ready to discover what life had in store for him. 

On September 27, 1999, Tody answered the call to serve his country when he enlisted in the United States Army. Following basic training, he received orders to South Korea. After completing his tour of duty in Korea, he returned to the United States and was assigned to Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. While stationed at Fort Sill, Tody deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning home, he completed his enlistment and was Honorably Discharged on February 5, 2005.

After returning to Oklahoma, Tody began a career with the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services (OKDHS), where he served in a variety of positions for more than 15 years. His dedication and commitment to his work were evident throughout his years of service. He eventually retired due to medical related issues. 

In March 2010, Tody married Rafinnee Washington, whom he met while stationed in Korea. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Jazmyne and Jaya Crawford, who were the loves of his life. Tody was a proud father who cherished his girls and treasured every moment spent with them. Tody was an outgoing, fun-loving man whose larger-than-life personality could light up any room. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome. He loved to laugh, fellowship, and simply enjoy life. 

During his retirement, he found joy in the things he loved most—fishing, hunting, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time with friends and family. Tody had a unique way of reminding everyone around him to enjoy life and make the most of every moment. One of his favorite sayings was, “Don’t threaten me with a good time.”Those words perfectly captured his adventurous spirit, his sense of humor, and his willingness to have a good time wherever life took him. Tody was also a dedicated member of American Legion Ward Hawkins Post 234 in Boley, where he continued his commitment to service and fellowship. Tody’s commitment to his community extended beyond his professional career. He proudly served as a Board Member of the Boley Housing Authority, giving his time and service to help support the residents and community of Boley. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Crawford; his grandparents, Earnest and Theodoll Magness; and W.A. and Ella Crawford. 

Tody leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Angela King, and stepfather, Wardell King; his brothers ,Brandon Crawford and Wardell Jeremy King; his beloved daughters, Jazmyne and Jaya Crawford; the mother of his children, Rafinnee Crawford; his grandfather, Johnny Ray Marzett; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, fellow veterans, and loved ones. Tody lived life with a bold spirit, an open heart, and an unforgettable personality. He loved deeply, laughed freely, served honorably, and made memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Though his time on earth was far too short, the joy he brought to others will live on. Rest well, Tody. Your watch is over. Your memory will never fade, and your spirit will forever live on in those who loved you.

The Final Tribute to De'Angelo will commence on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at The Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of Galilee Baptist Church located at 1025 E. 9th Street in Shawnee, Oklahoma where Pastor Tony Rhône will officiate.

You may visit Mr. Crawford as he slumbers at the Full Gospel Non-Denominational Church- Boley on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

The Christian Committal will immediately follow the services in the Eastlawn Cemetery in Boley, Oklahoma.
