February 25 th , 1962, this world was blessed to receive Deborah Jean Davis through Willie Lee Hendrix and Della Mae Bradley in Dequeen, Arkansas. The family relocated to Kingfisher, Oklahoma where Deborah attended and graduated Kingfisher High School. After graduation, Deborah went on to Oklahoma City University where, during her 1982 freshman year she was baptized in The Name of Jesus and filled with The Holy Ghost under the pastorate of Bishop Vanuel C. Little, Sr. Deborah continued her education receiving her associates degree in business and computer technology from Oklahoma Junior College.
As Deborah attended Greater First Deliverance Temple in Oklahoma City, she involved herself in the work of the ministry wherever she was needed. Of the many duties, she served as music director for the "PAW Kids". Deborah spent her entire salvation experience working in the ministry in various support roles. Some of her highlighted work is as Secretary for the State Christian Education Department; Assistant Secretary for the Oklahoma State Executive Board; Secretary for the Aenon Bible College Alumni Association. Sister Deborah served every position and department with diligence, willingness, and expert efficiency.
While working in the Oklahoma State Council, Deborah met the love of her life, Deacon Johnell Davis. They were married April 9, 1994 and moved to the city where he resided, Tulsa Oklahoma. There they attended Grace Apostolic Church where both worked diligently in the ministry. They welcomed their daughter Paige Deambra Davis on September 12, 1995 and son, Nathan Kyle Davis on December 26, 2000 to whom she gave the full fruit of motherhood.
Deborah worked in office administration for 30 years at various businesses in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Recognizing the growing needs of her children, Deborah became a part time Avon representative and homemaker allowing her to meet the demands of her children's school and sports schedules. She served as "Booster Club" President for Edison Girls Basketball, and member of the Edison football and Union boys' basketball.
Deborah lived a full and abundant life, filled with love, laughter, family and friends. She touched the lives of many, fulfilling her purpose here on earth. On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, Deborah was suddenly called home having fought a good fight, finishing her course.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee Hendrix and Della Mae Bradley; sisters, Nicesie Vaughn and Norma Joe Nendrix; brother, Kenneth Hendrix; niece, Mallory Ware.
Remaining to cherish her memory, Deborah leaves behind in God's hands: her husband, Johnell Davis (Tulsa, Oklahoma); two children, Paige and Nathan Davis (Tulsa, Oklahoma); six brothers, Johnny Rae Hendrix (Gould, Arkansas), Ossie (Gussie) Hendrix (Harvest, AL), Lee (Trina) Erby (Hercules, CA), Ruben Bradley (Atlanta, GA), Robert Hendrix (Mineral Springs), Calvin Hendrix (Ashdown, AR); seven sisters, Creda Austin (Los Angeles, CA), Earnestine (Jackie) King (Wake Village, TX), Mozell Nervis (El Paso, TX), Linda Dickerson (Tollette, AR), Willie Jewel Hendrix (Mineral Spring, AR), Karen (Bryan) Murray (Dallas, TX), and Cheryl Bradley (Shreveport, LA) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
