Obituary

Debra Mckinney, age 57 born April 2, 1959 to James Edwards Sr. and Ruth Carter. Debra promoted to glory on February 27, 2017 in the comfort of her own home with her husband and daughter by her side.

Debra was a phenomenal wife, mother, and grandmother. She exuded love for her family, fun, faith, and fearlessness. She gave her life to Christ as an adult and served as a Deaconess under the leadership of Dr. Jesse M. Lazenby at Divine Inheritance Ministries vowing frequently to go all the way with the Lord.

Debra graduated in 1978 from McLain High School. Her love for the Scots ran deep she frequently participated in alumni activities and enjoyed reuniting with her friends from school. She loved children and fulfilled her passion by operating a home daycare for twelve years. Through hard work and dedication she was able to obtain a three star accreditation for an in home facility, her passion for families open the door for her to counsel and mentor many young women in the community. Debra also loved serving the Lord her dedication in the service of the Lord was exemplary through her becoming a Deaconess and serving in various areas of need in the Church.

Debra is survived by her Mother Ruth Carter, Husband Larry Mckinney, her Son Mahcoe Edwards Sr., Daughter Erica N. Morgan, and Pam and Marvin Combs, Larry Jr and Netta Mckinney, Pelicia and Tony Blackmon, Deedra and Lander Copeland. Grandchildren Mahcala, Mahchiah, Razhon, and Mahcoe (Booda Bear) along with siblings David, Sandra, Eva, Angelia, Lisa, Tina, and Denise, grandchildren, nieces, nephews,  cousins, very close friends and church family.  She is preceded in death by her Grandmother Anna Bell Holmes, sister Donna Edwards, and brother James Edwards.


Mrs. Debra McKinney, in her 57th Season Transitioned to Rest on Monday Morning February 27, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Services will be Saturday March 4, 2017 at 11AM at Redeemed by Grace Church located at 76 N. Zunis in Tulsa.

Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens in Skiatook, Oklahoma.

Friends may visit Mrs. McKinney on Friday from 11AM until 7PM in Tulsa.
