A beautiful, cheerful rose was plucked from our midst. Her name was Delois Drew, affectionately known as "Bay Bay". she was born November 25, 1937 in tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Paul Drew, Sr., and Dorilla Drew. She was the second of their ten children. She wsa preceded in death by her daughter Delois Drew, and her sister, Ada "Suga" Jones.
At an early age, Delois professed a belief in Christ. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1956. she was later blessed with one son and two daughters. She was employed at Seismograph for many years and later retired. The true fulfillment of her life was in her family and freinds, spending time with them. She was loving, giving, full of laughter [sissing] and was adamant about making new friends wherever she went. She will long be remembered for her Sunday dinners and just sitting down talking while there were pots on the stove and she was preparing her feast for many. She enjoyed cooking and preparing plates for any and everyone. Even on specail occasions, she would prepare special requests such as peach cobblers, just like you like them. She always cared for others and was self-sacrificing in doing anything she couldto help someone in need.
On Saturday, February 25, 2006, Delois was called home and received her wings. She leaves behind; her son, Michael [Jamilah] Drew, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Michelle and Maya Drew, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, markia, Marquan, Breona, Marjuan, Mikyia and Michael Jr.; six brothers, Paul Jr.[Edna], Thomas, Leon, Maurice, Gerald and Rickey "Crocket" Drew, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ruth Brown and Mary Drew, Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with other relatives and friends.
The final hour Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 2235 North Norfolk Avenue. Reverend Richard Walker, Pastor, Officiant.
Burial followed in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1956 served as the Bearers.
