On July 31, 1980 at 2:57 pm. in Tulsa Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Michael & Denise Morrison, they named him Demetrius. He was known to everyone as "Mechie." Mechie attended Tulsa Public School and graduated from Tulsa McLain High School with the class of 2000. He loved being around his family. He also enjoyed music, dancing & going to Saturday movies with Grandma Hazel. One of Mechie's ambitions in life was to be able to live on his own, but due to his disabilities he was unable to do so. Mechie had a kind spirit, a good heart, a huge and welcoming smile. He never met a stranger, everyone he crossed paths with was his friend, and soon after meeting him; Mechie made others feel the same about him.


His favorite thing to say was "This is the best time of my life." no matter what it was. Mechie had so many best things in his life. He worked for Bridges Foundation for several years. He later went to work for Sertoma.

On Wednesday Oct. 14, Mechie was looking forward in attending the NBA game with his brother Andre, but before he had the opportunity to do so, he answered God's call to come home. Mechie leaves to cherish his memories: Mother Denise, Father Michael, Sister Latrice Williams, 2 Brothers Andre & Michael Jr, Grandmothers Lou Della Vice & Hazel Morrison, 7 Aunts Joyce Jetton (George) Okla. City, Sharon Anderson, Patricia Works, Terri Gateward & Margaret Morrison all of Tulsa Ok. Andrea Troupe (Darryl) Norman Ok, Paula Smith (Willard) Maryland. 2 Uncles Wendell Morrison and Charles Vice both of Tulsa Ok. 4 nieces Aa'Shatia, Navaah, Da-Zaney Williams and Anyah Morrison, 2 nephew Ashton Morrison and Taj Williams and a host of relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Morrison will be Tuesday October 20, 2009 at 11AM inside our All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa. Visitation will be Monday from 12Noon to 7PM.
