IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Denise Marchelle
Wade
August 26, 1959 – November 2, 2022
Denise Marchelle Wade (Ross), affectionately known as "Niecy," sixty-three, native of Muskogee, Oklahoma, entered into God's Kingdom on November 2, 2022. She was born August 26, 1959, to Vivian Joan and John Ross in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Denise accepted Christ into her life at a young age and instilled those core values in her children. She was faithful and loved the Lord. As she approached the end of her life journey, Denise praised and worshipped God "through the good and the bad."
Upon graduation from Muskogee High School, Denise worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. During this time, Denise met the love of her life, Glen, who would remain by her side through the variables of life. Denise believed in the bond and importance of family, naturally guiding her to obtain her bachelors of science in Social Work from Northeastern State University. Upon graduation, she worked diligently as a social worker with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS), until she retired.
A bearer of many talents, she was a natural artist that enjoyed sharing her gift with others. She was also an avid traveler and found beauty in every location she visited. Denise was a truly great woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family, friends, and community. Her generosity, kindness, and love will be forever ingrained in all she knew. Denise was most proud of her family and was always ready with pictures and a story to share.
As the sun set on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Denise was surrounded by those same loved ones as she transitioned to Glory. She was greeted by her mother, Vivian; brothers, Greg, Kevin, and Roscoe; and sister, Rochelle.
Denise was survived by: her husband of over thirty-eight years, Glen; son, Chris Johnson (Kerry Johnson); daughters, Garrica Bateman (Timothy Bateman) and DeAndre Opoku; eight grandchildren, Avery, Alivia, Cordilia Johnson, Timothy II, Celia, Omari Bateman, Rockson, and Roxanne Opoku; siblings, Ron (Joyce), Pam (Ervin), Alice (Stanley), and Margie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
