Dennis McDaniel Jr., was born on January 24, 1942 to Dennis and Daisy Mae [Gilyard] McDaniel in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dennis attended school at Manual Training High School, graduating with the Class of 1961. He was also Captain of the basketball team.

Dennis later enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his service in the service, he met and married Elizabeth Johnson and from that union, four sons and four daughters were produced.

Dennis was a devout Jehovah's Witness of the Kingdom Hall. He spent his lfe preaching and teaching to others, all of his words of wisdom.

Mr. McDaniel fell asleep in death on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. He was preceded in death by Elizabeth McDaniel, Daisy Mae McDaniel, Betty Osburn and two grandsons, James Buchanan, Jr., and Ceontreal Johnson.

He leaves behind with great memories; 8 children, Shirley Ledbetter, Debra Smith, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Phyllis [Earl] Tucker, Denise Johnson, Marcus MCDaniel, Dennis McDaniel, III, Purvis McDaniel, Tyrone [Clyte] McDaniel and a brother, Dwight McDaniel, Sr.; and a very specal cousin, Dorothy Hooks; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dennis will be greatly remember by his trhyming, very loud whistling and quotes..." You Got to Get Up There" was among the favorites.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. Brother James Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery at Summit, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM.
