Obituary
On July 26, 1976, a son was born to the union of Carl and Janice (Adkins) Pouncil of Boynton, Oklahoma. DeWayne confessed his love for Christ at an early age at Cherryville Baptist Church. He attended Boynton Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1994.
DeWayne traveled around the country as Lead Warehouser with Home Depot for several years. After tiring of traveling, he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and started a Detail Shop in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Later, DeWayne followed in his father and his Late Uncle "June Bugg" (Hubert Jr.) steps and began employment with Overhead Door Company of Tulsa as a Commercial Door Installer. He also worked part-time as a Valet for Osage Casino, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
DeWayne had a love for his children, family, friends, old school music, and cars. His humor with his family was non-stop, while pacing back and forth.
On October 29, 2013, he united and married Portia Behn along with her children, Delvin and Dasia. They then relocated to Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
An angel descended from the Heavens above and called him home on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 (His Father's Birthday). His work had been done and his time to receive the most cherished gift for man, to be home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Hubert Emmanuel Adkins Sr., and grandparents Lee R. and Hattie Pouncil.
DeWayne leaves in God's care to cherish his unforgettable and fond memories; his wife, his parents, and children: Ashlyn, Destiny, Devin, and Aaliyah. As well as his Sister Kimberly of Arlington, TX, and his brothers Carl Jr.(Sunni), and Kenny of Oklahoma City, OK, Kelly (Julie) of Omaha, NE, and his grandmother Erma Adkins of Boynton, OK. His in-laws, Alberta and Mark Behn and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Hour of Remembrance will be shared on Saturday morning, November 28, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Boynton Community Center. Reverend Anthony Folks, Pastor of the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Boynton, Oklahoma, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Doyle Cemetery at Yahola, Oklahoma.
You may visit Mr. Pouncil on Friday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
