Obituary
Ms. Dianne Marie Smith, in her 55th year, surrendered her soul on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Dianne Marie Smith was born December 7, 1962, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Herbert Lee Smith and Mildred Brown Smith. She was the eighth child of this union. She attended Okmulgee High School.
Dianne was raised in the Church of the Living God and continued to be a member of this church until her death. After spending her early life in Okmulgee, she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, where she lived for 17 years. She worked as a cook for British Petroleum while in Florida and was also a certified nursing assistant. She was a great cook and her family especially enjoyed her pasta and potato salads. She had a great heart for her family and hosted many holidays and celebrations at her home. Her grandchildren were her great love and her pride and joy.
Dianne was preceded in death by her mother and father; three brothers, Kevin Smith, Rickey Lee Smith and Charles Smith; and two sisters, Helen Marie Williams and Sharon Ann Arterberry.
Dianne's two sons, Curtis (Hadea) Smith, of Tulsa, OK, and Anthony Talton, of Tulsa, OK, survive to witness her transition, along with her grandchildren, Curtis, Aleeyah, Kevin and Amirah Smith, Mariah Renee Brown, Ezekiel Keshawn and Jeremiah Laron Talton. She is survived by two brothers, Herbert (Lynda) Smith, Jr., of Okmulgee, OK, and Gerald Wayne Smith, of OKC; three sisters, Mary Smith Whittaker, of Tulsa, OK, Donna Smith Williams, of Sand Springs, OK, and Raina Kaye Smith, of Tulsa, OK; one aunt, Beatrice Smith, Tulsa, OK; along with longtime partner, John Walton, of Okmulgee, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
The final hour with Dianne will commence on Saturday afternoon, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Osage Avenue Church of the Living God. Elder Cummings, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Okmulgee.
You may visit Ms. Smith, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Okmulgee on Friday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
