As we look back to September 22, 1964, a beautiful baby girl, Dina Michelle Montgomery was born to Larry Montgomery and Burma Jackson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Loved dearly, she was one of a kind from the
beginning, with a voice of conviction and an ability to express just how she felt, even by a simple expression, despite her quiet demeanor. From a very young age, she developed a unique passion for countless talents. Her passion for hair styling was truly at the forefront, and there was not anything her hands could not master. She enjoyed sewing with an array of patterns and colors, and as a very young girl always being organized, which meant keeping her younger brother Duan away from her room. Dina had a natural born talent to accessorize all her colors from head to toe, including: earrings, scarves, clothes, purses, shoes, anything you can name. She did this effortlessly. She truly had a love for all types of music over the years, and enjoyed reading novels from a variety of artists, especially Maya Angelou, & Terry McMillan. At the age of five, her mother married Daniel Lee Johnson, from Oklahoma and they moved first to Michigan for a brief period, and then made a home in Colorado, where her two younger siblings were born. They were raised studying the bible as Jehovah's Witnesses. Dina came to appreciate many bible principles and teachings that instilled in her what was most important in life. The values she took in were priceless and would greatly aid her in raising her own family. As Dina grew up, she developed a diligent dedication for hard work through her school years. She left Colorado after graduating from George Washington High School, pursued some college education and always had a desire to return to Oklahoma and be close to something she really valued, and that was family. Dina was so proud to bring into the world her very own beautiful baby girl, DaRina Wilson, and she was determined to raise her in the best way possible. During this time, her early career involved working at Williams Oil Company in Tulsa for some time. Her diligence took her into a 20 year career with United Airlines, as a flight attendant, that she truly enjoyed, which took her around the world, as far as Seoul, Korea.
She married Christopher Horn Sr. on February 26, 1991 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and with this union, was born Christopher Horn Jr., CiAra Leatrice Horn, and Da'Von Horn. Dina truly had a very deep, forever
love for her children, a strong desire to protect and defend them at all times through the years, and a self-sacrificing spirit to always be sure they had the best in life, even through challenging growing pains. She passed on the values and talents instilled in her, the qualities of love, dedication, respect and dignity, and stood as an unbreakable, strong, and determined woman throughout everything, and wanted her children to live with this in their hearts. Her priceless joy of having her grandson Kayden McClellan, by her oldest, to love and spoil, brought her a renewed joy of life. To her, he was her KDPoo. She had the most unique and amazing handwriting we all ever knew, and always had a sweet scent from her perfumes. We can all truly say, a passion she enjoyed was "thrifting" with her grandmother, 'Pud', Othella Dennis, and their dear family friend, Ike. Dina and 'Pud' had a very unique bond and loved each other deeply. With all of this said, we truly value the time and memories we had with Dina, and there are no words that can express how much she is loved in our hearts, and will be missed as each day passes. We are truly grateful for the promised hope in the scriptures to see her again in the very near future. Her Grandma "Pud" Othella Dennis, "Baba", Sharon Jackson, Phyllis Jackson, and Darren Jackson preceded her in death. Dina is survived by her husband, Christopher Horn Sr., Children: DaRina Wilson, Christopher Horn Jr., CiAra Leatrice Horn, and Da'Von Horn, Grandson: Kayden McClellan. Parents: Larry Montgomery, (Father), Daniel Johnson (Step-Father), Burma Johnson (Mother), Duan & Cara Johnson, (Brother), Dalenia & Perry Montgomery (Sister) & truly a host of many dear relatives and special friends.
