Donald Tyrone Criner, Jr., was born on April 2, 1968, the son of Donald Sr.,
and France (Webb) Criner in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a lifelong resident
of Muskogee and attended Muskogee Public Schools. He was a graduate of
the class of 1987 and a member of the 1986 State Football Championship team at
Muskogee High.
After graduating high school Baby attended Southeastern Oklahoma State in
Durant, Okla on a football scholarship. While there he was an important part
of their conference football championship team. After college Baby spend his
time umpiring little league baseball teams at Hatbox Field in Muskogee. He
also volunteered his knowledge and time coaching youth football, basketball
and baseball. Donald worked many years at Georgia Pacific. In his later years
he spent his time caring for his mother.
Donald excepted Jesus as his savior at an early age. He was baptized and attended New Zion Baptist Church
in Muskogee, Okla. under the leadership of Rev Joseph Ballard.
"Baby," as he liked to be called, enjoyed being around his family, playing dominoes, and watching football
and basketball. Baby was a people person, never met a stranger, and always greeted everyone with a smile
on his face. During his life, Baby had no children of his own, but treated his nieces and nephews like they
were his.
Donald "Baby" Criner, after 51 years, surrendered his soul on Saturday, March 28, 2020, from his home
in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Criner, Sr.; his grandmothers,
Odesa Criner and Cleona Webb; two brothers, Wyly Webb and Johnathan "Bam Bam" Webb; and a sister,
Jockalyn Webb.
Baby leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Frances Criner; two brothers, Toby (Delores) Webb of
Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Ricci Boulware of San Diego, California; a sister, Donna (Shelvin) John of Lake
Charles, Louisiana; a special niece who was like a sister to him, LaQuinta (Dwayne) Buchanan of Muskogee,
Oklahoma; along with a host of other relatives, classmates, and friends who will miss him dearly
Visitation for "Baby Criner" will be on Monday, April 6, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc.
A private service of memory for the limited family will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery, in Muskogee.
