Ms. Donald Faye Wright, a resident of Flint, Michigan, formerly of Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday morning, December 26, 2009 in Flint.
Mrs. Donald Faye Wright was born in Muskogee , Oklahoma , on January 24, 1948 to Doretha Alexander and James Jackson.
Donald Faye united with New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor, Reverend Hawkins, at a very early age. She confessed a hope in Christ Jesus and was baptized at the age of twelve under Pastor Hall. Near the age of eight, a blind lady at church known as Ms. Jerri, taught her an Easter speech that she would remember the rest of her life. She was very proud to recite it to anyone that asked.
She attended Dunbar, Douglas, and Wheatley Elementary Schools . She also attended Sadler Junior High School and Manual Training Senior High School where she was the first female student to study Auto Mechanics under the late Mr. Leon McCormick. She had personality plus and was, at times, called Donna Faye rather than Donald Faye because most people couldn't believe she had a boy's name.
Other family members and friends just called her the nickname "Man" which her mother gave to her when she was a baby, and it lovingly stuck to her very nicely! Some affectionately called her "Donna-Man" and she'd answer to them all.
Donna left Muskogee , Oklahoma with her "Sweetheart" Ronald Wright who became her husband. Ronald and Donald Wright were together for twenty-six years and they shared the same birthdays. They have called Flint , Michigan their home for the last twenty-three years.
Donald Faye leaves to mourn her passing her husband of the home, Ronald Wright, her son, Darren Hannah, whom she lovingly called "Puddin'," her mother, Doretha Alexander of Muskogee, Ok., her siblings: Charlie Mae (Oscar) Bills, K. C. Mo., Betty Jean (Robert) McConnell, Muskogee, Ok., Linda Kaye (Laurence) Clark, K. C.
