On September 27, 1938 a precious bundle of joy was born to Andrew Moore and Alice James Moore in Morris, Oklahoma. She spent her formative years in Morris, attending Long Tree Public Schools and graduating from the historic Dunbar High School in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. At an early age, Doretha met and married Bueford Floyd Perry, Sr. and to this union, four children were born: David, Winford, Bueford Jr., and Deborah. She was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church and later joined St. Matthew Baptist Church, and remained a faithful member there until her passing.

Doretha loved to sing in the choir, doing senior mission work at the church, traveling and sight-seeing. She loved going into the kitchen to cook, and bake. Her favorite place to go shopping was Wal-Mart in any state! Doretha spent time being employed with Ball Brothers, Inc. where she retired from.

Her parents, husband Bueford Perry, Sr., one son, David Perry, sisters, Corine Moore, Florine Moore, and Catherine Jones, brothers: Dave Dyers, Andrew Moore, Jr., James Wilson, great-grandchild, Alon Shaw Perry preceded her in death. Remaining to cherish her precious memories: her children: Winford Perry, Tulsa OK., Bueford Perry, Jr. Tulsa, OK., and Deborah Perry, Dallas, TX., one brother, Eugene Moore, Okmulgee, OK., Kristen Perry, four grandchildren: Kristen Perry, Kareen Perry, Tulsa, OK., Cory Dwayne Perry, Dallas, TX., Alex Brandon Shaw Perry, Tulsa, OK., six great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Her services will be Saturday February 9, 2013 at 10AM at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Friends may visit her on Friday from 10AM until 6PM.
