Ms. Doris Jean Parker Hooks, in her 93rd season, transitioned to Rest on October 14, 2022, in Ft. Worth, TX.  Born April 15, 1929, she lived a life dedicated to serving others via the walk of a Christian Lioness who was meek, but not weak in the dedication to make life better for mankind.  As an educator for 25 years, she retired from the Tulsa Public Schools in 1990. Early on in her adult life, she was recognized as a strong wise but quiet Christian woman and community organizer. She was a member and the mother to all at Holsey Chapel C.M.E Church, building bonds across racial lines for all people through her alliances with Langston University, the NAACP, the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, and other community organizations where she was recognized receiving many certificates and awards being God's witness to salvation and supporting citizen rights.

Services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00PM at Paradise Baptist Church in Tulsa.

You may visit her, as she slumbers in peaceful repose in the All Faiths Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Tulsa on Friday between the hours of 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Burial will follow immediately after the service at Crown Hill Cemetery and Repast at Holsey Chapel C.M.E., Rev. W. B. Harris Dinning Hall, 1804 E 48 ^th St. N, Tulsa, Ok 74130.
