Mrs. Doris Lewis, age 67 and a resident of Beggs, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, November 12, 2006 from Jenks, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Lewis, a lifelong resident of Beggs, attended Wheatley School and worked for the Bristow Carpet Factory for many years, before ultimately providing home health care in her latter years. She was active serving the Lord, establishing the Community Mission, of which she served as President for 21 years. She was a member of the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew her.

Sister Lewis is the beloved wife of Reverend Ernest Joe Lewis, the mother of Jerry Don Lewis, Marcus Darrell Lewis, Vickie Elaine Murdock and LaTicia Howard; the grandmother of 16 and the great-grandmother of 7.

The Celebratory Worship Service in her memory will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Assembly of God Church in Beggs. Reverend Elijah Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in the Beggs Cemetery.
