Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Loretta Teague, in her 58th year, peacefully made her transition from earth to Heaven, surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday evening, January 5, 2006.

Dorothy was born from the loving union of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Simpson in Muskogee, Oklahoma on February 20, 1947. She was the third of ten children born from this union.

Dorothy began her early education at Langston Elementary School in Muskogee. She then attended Sadler Junior High School and Manual Training High School, graduating in May of 1965.

Her spiritual life began at an early age at Northside Church of Christ. After the merging of Northside Church of Christ with 18th and Denison Church of Christ, she became an active and faithful member of 18th and Denison Church of Christ until her untimely passing.

Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony on April 7, 1965 to Kenneth Teague, Sr. To this union, two children were born. This union was later dissolved, but Dorothy and Kenneth remained the very best of friends.

At the time of her death, she worked with her brother, Alfred Simpson in his carpentry business as a carpenter helper. She was also a therapeutic foster parent for Eagleridge Therapeutic Care Program and the Department of Human Services. Through these programs, her home became home to Temeka, LaToria, Cindy, Wendy, Shermaine, AManda, Danae, Danniele, Raven, Mattie, Fancheon, Jemetris and Heather.

Dorothy lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed decorating, crocheting, carpentry, cooking, flower arranging, traveling and being among family and friends. Dorothy was always the life of the gathering and her presence will be greatly missed by family and friends, as well as everyone whose life she touched.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Marietta Simpson; a sister, Lela Simpson and a brother, Elroy Simpson.
