On December 20, 1948, a pair of boys entered the world, a gift to Earl Winslow and Dorothy Lee Carter. They named their twins Earl Winslow, Jr. and Vearl Winston Carter. Earl attended Tulsa Public Schools, graduating from the Historic Booker T. Washington with the class of 1967. Before graduating, he was a member of the Booker T. Washington Mix Chorus, the Varsity Basketball team, and the lead singer in his rhythm & blues band.
After high school, Earl attended Spartan School of Aeronautics. He decided to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corp service for two years earning the rank of Corporal and being nominated for the Silver Star Medal for his Heroism. Earl received two Purple Heart Medals after being wounded twice in combat in the Vietnam War. On October 24, 2011, Earl was called by our Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his Father, Earl Winslow Carter, I.
Remaining to cherish his precious memories: his mother, Dorothy Lee Carter, Tulsa, OK., his children: Earl W. Carter, III, Dayton, OH., Tonya Carter, Los Angeles, CA., Candice Carter, Tulsa, OK., Stormie Kelly, Tulsa, OK., two brothers: Paul Carter, Tulsa, OK., and Vearl Carter, Bremerton, WA.
Services for Mr. Carter will be Monday October 31, 2011 at 11AM inside our All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa. Friends may visit Mr. Carter on Sunday from 4PM-6PM in Tulsa. Interment will immediately follow at The National Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Full Military Honors.
