Mr. Earl Michael Dean, after 74 seasons of life, transitioned to everlasting memory on Monday afternoon, September 5, 2021 from his home in Coweta, Oklahoma.
On March 21,1947 a baby boy, Earl Michael Dean was born to Earlie and Pauline Dean in Chicago Illinois. The family included two sisters, Marjorie Dean and Ramona Dean-Foree and one brother Reginald Dean. He was the second child of this union. At an early age, Earl showed great interest in dance and music. He was meticulous about everything. He took great pride in his appearance, Earl loved to look good. Earl received his education at Burnside Elementary, Harlan High School and attended Olive Harvey College in Chicago, IL. Thereafter, he joined the Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Earl was a hard worker and believed in having multiple revenue streams. Earl was employed at Chicago public schools, Parks and Recreational District, He owned a Vendor-ship, all while working at Conrail Railroad. Earl was a devoted company man. He moved through the ranks and was noted as one of the first black Lieutenants for Conrail Railroad, Police Division. Earl loved his job and retired after 35 years of service. During this time, Earl married Deborah Lewis-Barber in Holy matrimony, as a blended family, they were blessed with seven children. Earl accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was an active member at Christian Service M.B. Church in Chicago, Illinois. Earl was a member of the Male Quartet and a Deacon for many years. He truly loved his family and traveling. His favorite annual destination was to attend his family reunions. He enjoyed spending time with relatives.
Earl Michael Dean affectionately known as "Earl the Pearl", because he was so smooth. Also, called "Gomez" by his closest buddies. However, we just called him "MIKE". Everybody loved being around him and he was loved by many. Earl never met a stranger, and He especially loved the neighborhood kids. He had a special place in his heart for his community. He shared and treated every child as his own. He loved "stepping" and socializing with his stepping club, "Fun Bunch". Earl was understanding, loving, and giving to family and friends.
The Final Salute to Mr. Dean will commence on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Rose Baptist Church, Coweta, Oklahoma. Reverend Pamela Freeman will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Haskell City Cemetery.
You may visit Mr. Dean, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Friday at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
