On August 10, 1932 a bouncing baby boy was born to Lewis and Sally Mackey Craven in Braggs, Oklahoma. The couple named him Earmon Craven. He received his early education in Braggs. He later moved to Muskogee, and then to Tulsa where worked for Dean's Service Station for over 20 years. He also labored as a trucker and in security for several years. His hobbies included fishing, playing dominoes and shooting pool.
Earmon loved to sing showcasing in "The Oklahoma Jubilees" & "The Mighty Clouds of Joy." Even after moving to Wichita, he would travel with groups to sing at their engagements. Earmon's favorite song to sing was "My Mother Bowed, She Prayed For Me."
After spending several years in Wichita, he returned to Tulsa and lived with his brother Willie and his wife Pat for over 30 years. He did spend the last month of living with his loving niece Dena. On January 24, 2019 at the home of his niece, Mr. Earmon "George" Craven peacefully made his Transition. Those preceding him in death: his parents Lewis and Sallie Craven, two sisters: Lucy Craven Goff, and Dalilah Craven, three brothers: Roscoe, Julius & Joe Lewis.
Remaining to cherish his precious memory: two brothers: Arther and Willie (Pat) Craven, five children: Earmon, Jr., Johnny (Yolanda), California, Olean (Ron) Tulsa, OK, Tina (Texas), Valerie (Tulsa), over a dozen grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Earmon Craven will be Saturday February 2, 2019 at 2PM inside Biglow's All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.
Friends may visit Mr. Craven as he peacefully rests on Friday from 1PM until 7PM in Tulsa.
