Earnest Edwards Sr., 81 years of age, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed peacefully to his place of rest.

He was born on February 8, 1939 in Rentiesville, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Louisa Edwards. He later married his sweetheart Jeanette to whom he would spend the next 61 years loving. As a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church for 65 years, he served the Lord in several capacities. Earnest was also proud to serve his country through his enlistment in the U.S. Army and later Air Force Reserves.

As a talented barber, he opened his own business in 1970, Earnest Edwards Barber Shop. His life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32; "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

He leaves behind his wife Jeanette, and five children Constance Lee of Vancouver, WA; Bernard Edwards, LaDoris Harlin of Muskogee, Earnest Edwards Jr. of Luther, OK; and Anita Paxton (Melvin) of Prosper, TX. He was a fun-loving grandfather and admired by his 7 grandchildren and host of great grandchildren; his  brothers and sisters Earlene Crawford of Wichita, KS; Roy Edwards, Edner Lockett (Ellis), Cornelius Edwards (Cathy) of Muskogee; Wilmer Edwards of Rentiesville, Carolyn Relf (Donald Relf) of Luther, OK and Emma Edwards a sister-in-law and a special cousin Rudelia Grayson.

Earnest was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Louisa Edwards, his brothers David Edwards, Bobby Edwards and Hardy Colbert and will be missed by his family, church members, many customers and friends.

You may visit Mr. Edwards, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

The final hour with Mr. Edwards will be on Friday, in the People's Chapel, with the limited family members, followed by burial in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
