"…A Time to Be Born…"

Earnestine Thornton was born to the late Sam and Annie Thornton, on March 16, 1953 in Buckeye, OK.  She was the seventh of thirteen children.  Both parents preceded her in death as well as 3 sisters (Carrie Mae; Sandra Faye, Sarah Mae), 2 brothers (Albert & Curtis) and 1 daughter (Rebecca).

Earnestine united in fellowship with the Christian Church of Boley, Oklahoma under the leadership of the late Pastor Nichols, where she remained a member until she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She later joined Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was currently under the direction of Reverend Brent Bell.  She has always accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Earnestine worked for Wrangler Jeans in Prague, OK during the early part of her life while living in Boley, Ok.  She later moved to Tulsa OK where she worked for Tulsa Public Schools, where she was currently employed.  She met lots of great people and had a love for people especially children.

"…A Time to Die…"

Earnestine was called to Glory on September 4, 2018.  Celebrating her new life is her special friend of 5 years; Mr. Wilmor (Bo) Slaughter, her 3 children; Mark Thornton of Tulsa OK, Cindy Blackwell (Toney) of Oklahoma City, OK; and Larry Johnson Jr (Tonja) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one God daughter Talore Slaughter of Tulsa, OK. One brother; Clifford Thornton (Viola) of Spencer, OK; Seven sisters; Jimmy Lee Gardner (Fred); Lillie Morrison (Donnell) of OKC, OK; Roberta Cooper of Del City, OK ;Mandie Thornton of OKC, OK; Wanda Frazier (Archie) of Newalla OK; Sandra Kay Woodfork (Nathaniel) of Boley OK; and Janice Thornton of Paden OK; 14 grandchildren, Lil Larry, Keishun, Leroy, Michael, Sequoia, Donnell, Rebecca, Lar'ree, baby Larry, Lar'rion, Brailyn, Bryson, Kendra ,Christina, and a host of great-grands, loving family and friends.

Services will be Saturday September 15, 2018 at 11AM at Amos Temple in Boley.

Friends may visit Mrs. Thornton on Friday from 1PM until 6PM in Boley.

Interment will immediately follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Boley,
