In the year of our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Thirty-eight, God blessed Henry and Berta [Sharp] Reed with a baby girl on the Seventeenth Day of June. This beautiful daughter was named Easter Mae Reed. She was the last child born from this loving union, arriving in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.


Easter grew up in Okmulgee, where she graduated from Historic Dunbar High School. She then furthered her education at Lewis Business College in Detroit, Michigan.


She accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She attended Macedonia Baptist Church, serving the Lord faithfully as the Pianist for many years before her health began to fail.


Easter met and later married Earl P. Williams, and from this union, three children were born; Teresa, DyWanda and Tomeka.


On Thursday morning, the Fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord, Two-thousand and nine, Easter Mae Williams, in her 71st year, dozed into the tranquil peace of eternal slumber from Orange Park, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Berta Reed and five siblings.


She leaves in God's care; her children, Teresa Byrd, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, DyWanda [Robert] Idlebird, Jr., Orange Park, Florida and Tomeka R. [Morrell D.] Morgan, Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Leroy Byrd, III, Alvin Bryd, Wade Lewis Smith, Zenobia Idlebird, Akilahy Idlebird, Zhanee A. Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Jakari Byrd and Carmen R. Byrd; along with other relatives and friends.

The hour of tribute will be on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. McKinley Rice, Pastor of St. Matthew Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
