Mr. Eddie L. Farries, Jr., age 71 and a resident of Boley, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from his home in Boley.
Eddie Lee Farries, Jr., was born on July 19, 1942 to Eddie and Velma Farries, Sr., in Cornerstone, Arkansas. His family moved to Boley, Oklahoma when Eddie was around the age of six, where he attended school in the Boley Public School District.
He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Eddie attended several Churches in Oklahoma City and the Boley area.
Mr. Farries spent his early years living in Chicago and Boley. He was often called by those who knew him best as "Mead" or "Mr. Ed." Eddie returned to Boley in the early seventies and was a simple man, yet very adventurous. He worked in the construction business for many years.
Eddie married Louise Logan and remained married for several years. His favorite saying was "Float like a butterfly, sting like a be, that's why they call me, Eddie Lee." He never met a stranger and if he did, that stranger soon became a friend.
In 1986, Eddie met and later, married Carol J. Steele, the love of his life. They were blessed with ten children.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memory; his wife and best friend, Carol, whom he lovingly called "Baby Girl"; five daughters, Donnetta [Reggie], Benneville, MI, Kayla [Kevin], Oklahoma City, Micelea [Ronald], DeAngela [James "J.T."] and Chantel, all of Boley; three sons, Eddie "James" [Nancy], Samuel DeWayne and Stefon Lavell, all of Boley; nine grandchildren, Azariah, Zachariah, Laniah and Keylun, all of Okemah, Jamarion, Oklahoma City, Jerrika, Ronjnae, Andrea and Andrinee, all of Boley; three step-children; three sisters, Isie Sanders and Velma Osborne, Oklahoma City, and Rosie Anderson, Midwest City, Oklahoma; four brothers, Elijah, Detroit, MI, Elisha, Boley and Sammy and Lloyd D., all of Oklahoma City; a special sister-in-law, LaDora Lightner, Jones, OK; several sisters and brothers-in-law; his second mother, Nordine Tryon, Boley; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
