On February 8,1950 lifes race began for Eddie Alvin Oakley. Eddie was born to the union of Frank and Mattie Oakley in Oktaha, Ok.

Eddie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Oktaha, Ok. He received his education through the Muskogee, Ok public school district, graduating from Manuel Sr. High School.

Eddie moved to Kansas City, MO where he resided. During his residency he met Ruby Oliver. They would later move to Tulsa, OK. and unite in marriage in 1975 and form a loving family union with Yolonda, Evit, Monica, and Eddie. Unto this union Mattie was born.

Eddie was a member of The 33rd Degree Masons and Shriners of Tulsa, OK.

Eddie was employed by McDonnel Douglas until the closing of the plant. He then continued his employment with Baldwin Steel.
Eddie closed his eyes on the morning of October 17, 2006, at which time his earthly race was completed and he crossed over to eternal life.
Preceding him in death was his father Frank, mother Mattie and sister Willa Mae.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 31 years Ruby; sons: Eddie "Butch" Carter (Jennifer) and Evit Oliver of Tulsa, OK. daughters: Mattie, Yolonda and Monica all of Tulsa, Ok.; Brothers: Carl Oakley, Merin "Mel" Oakley and Ray Oakley all of Tulsa, OK. Sisters: Anniebell Carlis and Pearl Oakley-Myles of Tulsa, OK and Lee Alexander of Muskogee, OK. Aunt Georgia Richardson of K.C., MO, 10 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

You may visit Mr. Oakley as he slumbers October 20, 2006 during the hours of 12pm to 5pm, also Sunday October 22, 2006 during the hours of 12pm to 6pm.

His services will be Monday, October 23, 2006 at 11am at Grace Apostolic Temple 1019 E. 54th St. North Tulsa, Ok 74126
