Obituary

On August 20, 1939 a beautiful baby girl was born to Eddie and Olivie Hawkins. They proudly named her Eddie Delois Hawkins. Eddie attended Carter G. Woodson high school in Tullahassee,Oklahoma where she received her high school diploma. She continued her education at Langston University where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and graduated with her bachelor's degree in business.

Upon graduation, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she met and married Walter J. Vann. Out of this union two children were born; Mark W. Vann (Amy Vann) and Rhonda K. Johnson (Homer Johnson).

They later divorced and Eddie found love with James Lonnie Burch; out of this relationship three children were born; Vanessa Michelle Broadnax ( Michael Broadnax), Arlene A. Warford ( Michael Warford Sr.) and Laneé D. Vann. After many years of service Eddie retired from MetLife and moved back home to Tullahassee, Ok where she continued to faithfully serve the Lord at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She served as church treasurer and she was also mother of the church. Eddie (fondly known as MeeMaw) enjoyed reading and devoted the remainder of her life caring for her family as well as the members of the community.

On February 13, 2019, God picked his precious flower, Eddie Delois Vann and called her home.  Eddie is preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Olivie Hawkins.
