The union of Jewel and Sallie Christmas Antwine was blessed with their tenth of eleventh child on December 12, 1928 in Nuyaka, Oklahoma. Their tenth was named Edgar Richard. Edgar attended school in Nuyaka, and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized under the leadership of Rev. A.D. Powder at Shady Growth Church. Mr. Antwine, Sr. went on to wed Willie Mae Johnson on February 7, 1953. He would always refer to her as "Sweet." This beautiful union produced ten beautiful children. One son, Herbert Ray Antwine preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife of 56 years, Willie Mae Antwine, nine children: Shirley Mayo (Larry), Muskogee, OK., Edgar Antwine, Jr. (Gwen), Muskogee, OK., Gracie Antwine, Tulsa, OK., Glenn Antwine, Tulsa, OK., Earl Antwine, New Orleans, LA., Sallie Motte, Tulsa, OK., Classie Antwine, Denver, CO., Leonard Antwine, Muskogee, OK., Melvin Antwine (Connie), Tulsa, OK., one sister, Izola Daniels, Beggs, OK., two brothers: Schafter Antwine, Oklahoma City, OK., Willie Antwine (Irene), Beggs, OK., 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Antwine are scheduled for Friday January 8, 2010 at 11AM at Jerusalem Baptist Church located on Highway 75 in Okmulgee. His brother, Rev. Willie Antwine, SR. will officiate. Friends may visit him as he peacefully rests on Thursday from 12Noon to 6PM in Okmulgee.
