Obituary

Mr. Edgar McNac, Jr. , after 82 years with us, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Mesquite, Texas.

Edgar McNac Jr. was born December 23,1938 to the loving union of Edgar McNac Sr. and Agnes Virginia Silas McNac. He was the 5th child born out of 13 children. He was raised in Fort Gibson Oklahoma where he attended school. He was a faithful member of Four Mile Branch Baptist Church. He later moved to Dallas and began working for Fleming/Rock Tenn for several years his last job in Dallas was at Texas Distributors Inc. Heating and Air.

Edgar moved to Dallas were he met the love of his life Bernis Mae Turner at Wheatley Church of God in Christ. They were united in holy matrimony for over 25 years. This union was blessed with six children three girls and three boys Belinda, Calvin, Josephine, Anthony, Katherine and David. He fathered daughter LaChandra Edmond Lewis(Kevin) and raised one step-daughter Shelecia Ann Morris.

He later moved back to Fort Gibson, Oklahoma where he began working for Whitlock Packing Company. He met and married Mozetta Harlan McNac and helped rear his step-son Jerome Johnson, Edgar and Mozzetta also helped in the raising of four grandchildren Dwight, Kornelius, Kadizsha and Kenneth. Edgar was a deacon for many years and he later accepted the calling into ministry where he served faithfully until his health diminished.

Edgar is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Sr. and Agnes McNac, the mother of his children Bernis Mae McNac, one- daughter Katherine McNac, one- granddaughter MyKayla Katherine McNac, four- brothers-Herman McNac, Lloyd McNac, Leroy McNac, Wardell McNac and seven-sisters Bernice Lurks, Alene Felts, Ethel Henderson, Havanna Vann, Lillian McNac Taylor, Rose Gilford, Sarah Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Belinda McNac (Hubert), Calvin McNac (Dana), David McNac, all of Dallas, Josephine McNac Horn of Balch Springs, Anthony McNac (Debra) of DeSoto, LaChandra Lewis (Kevin)of Frisco, Texas; one brother, Reverend Tommy Lee McNac Sr.(Delores) Muskogee, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a caravan of family and friends.

Service of Memory for Mr. McNac will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Timothy Baptist Church of Muskogee.  Bishop Edwin Love, Pastor of Chose Generation Fellowship will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Four Mile Branch Cemetery in Fort Gibson.  You may visit Mr. McNac on Friday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the People's Chapel at the funeral home.
