Obituary

On March 12, 1946, a bouncing baby girl was born to Mr. A.C. Ivery, Sr. and Odessa Andrews Ivery. They named her Edna Louise Ivery. "Louise" was the youngest girl of the 6 children. Louise attended Dunbar Elementary School, Carver Jr. High School, and graduated from The Historic Booker T. Washington High School with the class of 1964. She attended Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma.
Louise was baptized when she was a child at Mt. Rose Baptist Church. She attended Vernon A.M.E. as a teenager. Later in life, she was united with God at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and attended faithfully until her health failed. She enjoyed studying God's word, and was a faithful servant who truly believed in Him.
She had exquisite taste for fashion, and home designing. She was a loving Aunt, to all of her many nieces, and nephews. She was a master cook, and often shared her favorite dishes, macaroni and cheese, and strawberry cake at the family get-togethers. Louise was always thoughtful to others with her quiet spirit, and pleasing personality. She was a faithful friend and sister who usually expressed "I love you" each time you encountered her.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nellie Jackson, father, A.C. Ivery, Sr., special first born nephew, Michael Everett Vinson, and nephew, Ellington Andrew Calhoun. She leaves to mourn her passing, yet cherish her precious memory, her mother, Odessa Ivery, three sisters: Erma Jean Pitts, Eleanor Palmer Franklin, Elizabeth Ann Ivery, two brothers: Dr. A.C. Ivery, Jr.(Marilyn), Robert Charles Ivery (Chestine), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

The Services for Edna Ivery, 66 will be Saturday October 27, 2012 at 11AM at Greater Union Baptist Church in Tulsa. Friends may visit her on Thursday from 10AM until 7PM. Ms. Ivery traveled from Labour to Refreshment early Tuesday Morning, October 23, 2012 in Tulsa.
